Laguiole Leather Sheaths & Sharpener
Every Laguiole leather sheath you’ll find here is French-made, in shapes to suit any Laguiole en Aubrac folding knife or corkscrew. Kept loose in a pocket, a folding knife picks up scratches from keys and coins and wears the lining, whereas a leather knife sheath protects the handle and keeps it to hand. There are shapes at every budget, from a slim knife sleeve for the pocket to a belt sheath with a loop or straps.
For a jacket pocket, a knife pouch with a scooped opening lets you draw the knife out quickly, and a zipped leather knife case keeps it safe in a bag. Belt sheaths are worn upright or sideways, and two of them come with a sharpening steel. There’s also a pocket knife sharpener, and if you still need the knife, head to Laguiole Pocket Knives.

Sleeves, pouches and belt sheaths
Sleeves are slim enough to slip into a pocket with the closed knife inside, and each one bears the Laguiole en Aubrac logo. Pouches either have a scooped opening, so the handle is easy to reach, or close fully with a zip. Belt sheaths sit upright at the hip, quick to reach, or run sideways along the belt, flatter under a jacket, and some of the sideways ones fasten with straps. The Laguiole en Aubrac belt model works in both positions, so you don't have to decide in advance how you'll carry it.
For sommelier corkscrews
A corkscrew, or a pocket knife fitted with one, is shaped differently from a plain folding knife. Curved sheaths are made to fit that profile, and with a Le Millésime sheath, designed with wine professionals in mind, a sommelier corkscrew sits sideways on the belt. The soft closed pouches take either a corkscrew or a knife, which helps if you own both. For the corkscrews themselves, see Laguiole Corkscrews. Whatever you carry, there's a sheath shaped to fit it.
Nubuck, calf suede or vegetable-tanned leather
Nubuck comes from the hide's top layer, sanded to remove the hair, which gives it a velvety feel, and it's supple from the very first use. Calf suede is soft too and is used for the zipped and scooped pouches. Vegetable-tanned leather is firmer, so it stays in shape on a belt. Colours include black, brown, cacao, orange and gold. For a simple option there are synthetic sheaths in red, cacao, black or brown, some curved for corkscrews, and the two-tone Prestige cases pair orange with brown or grey.
Questions about knife sheaths
What is a knife pouch called?
Most people say pouch, sheath or sleeve, and you'll also see knife case or holster in shops. The name matters less than the fit, and each one here, made in France, is cut for Laguiole folding knives and corkscrews, in versions for the pocket and for the belt.
Is a scabbard different from a sheath?
Yes. Scabbard is the traditional word for the cover of a sword, while a sheath is made for a knife. A folding Laguiole is carried closed, so what suits it is a sheath or pouch cut to the shape of the closed knife, worn on the belt or slipped into a pocket. That's what this collection offers, in many shapes and colours.
What type of leather is best for knife sheaths?
It depends on how you carry. Firm vegetable-tanned leather won't sag on a belt, while softer nubuck and calf suede suit a pocket, where suppleness matters more. All three are used in this collection, every sheath French-made and cut for Laguiole en Aubrac folding knives and corkscrews.
Care instructions are sent with every order. Clean and dry your knife thoroughly before sheathing it.
